Waiting Patiently for the City Market to Return

Charlottesville is a wonderful place to be a foodie, not least because of our city market. While the market does not return until April, I’ve just had other exciting foodie news. The Happy Cook (a local gourmet kitchen shop) offers cooking classes, and one of their upcoming classes is a free offering with a delightful Charlottesville chef, Luther Fedora of the Horse & Hound Gastropub. Luther’s class will be January 11 and will include samples! So, in preparation for our local farmers’ next harvest, I will be brushing up on my culinary skills.

Hint: If you sign up for The Happy Cook‘s email newsletters you will be pleasantly surprised by the occasional inclusion of a 20% off coupon.

Yeah, I heard about this and couldn’t really believe it. A pretty well-kept secret.

I’ve only been to the Happy Cook a few times, but each time it’s been an excellent experience. The store is classy and the staff are friendly. Definite Cville win.

Except you can’t use that 20% off coupon towards a new espresso machine. 😦
