Preppy Dorm Room

Some of you may have seen this floating around the internet, but it really struck me. Maximilian Sinsteden’s dorm room is a perfect example of design ingenuity on a small budget. I just love the “Ralph Lauren Tapestry Green” wall with eclectic art and the tartan paired with oriental rugs. So cozy and classic. This is my favorite quote from the article:

It’s not unusual to find twenty friends crammed into Sinsteden’s room, enjoying the contents of his well-stocked bar.

And speaking of a well-stocked bar, stay tuned for a Charlotte guide coming up soon.

Is it bad if I find inspiration for my house from a dorm room?!

    Ha! No.

That green wall + gold frames + tartan + rugs remind me of you guys.

I wish i had the same design talent!!

I don’t know. Twenty people crammed in that room seems like it would put that makeshift bar of (from what I can perceive) top-shelf spirits in peril of imminent collapse.

  5. Working with college students, the first thing I thought back when I saw that was a) housing’s going to send him one heck of a damage bill and b) he won’t pass the RA’s fire inspection. 🙂

There’s another great studio apartment, also owned by a young guy in NYC, that has a similar look. I need to dig it up…
