That was Then, This is Now: Downton Abbey

I have been watching Downton Abbey on PBS (yes, I love Masterpiece Classic), and it is impossible not to take inspiration from Lady Mary’s exquisite wardrobe.

Whether shooting, dining, or flirting with gentlemen, she is perfectly elegant.

Granted, dressing like a lady is more difficult without a team of maids. But, here’s some inspiration to get you on your way!

Love this. Downton Abbey is moving along wonderfully. The Countess of Grantham’s outfits are beautiful, too.

(Agreed on Masterpiece on all fronts – it is our Sunday evening television, and has been since I was a little girl!)

  2. Gillian says:

Love Downton Abbey, I’m a Masterpiece Addict. Beautiful choices on the updated clothes. I love those blue pants! Might have to try to make a pair for myself….

  3. DZ says:

Next installment, Emily, you have to include something about Lord Grantham’s impeccable wardrobe. The hunting tweed alone…

  4. Cate says:

I’m super into the “Fox Hunt” outfit for a more equestrian look!

What would be your suggestions here? And, don’t you sort of love the netting over the black top hat?
