Admire It/Acquire It: The Calm of White

When I saw Lindsey Bond’s modern day Birmingham cottage a few months back featured in House Beautiful, I fell in love. The whole space studies various shades of white, with pops of color and natural textures mixed in. Above is a live/work moment she’s created that provides a surface to write a letter without taking up too much space. It’s such a nice example of calm decorating. Here’s how you can get this look:

1. Ribba Ikea Frame
2. “Kite Hill” print by Paul Octavious
3. Framed Octagonal-paned mirror
4. Extra Large Fang Gourd Lamp by Sandy Chapman
5. Galvanized Metal Doric Column
6. Pratt Desk
7. Basay Basket
8. Lacquer office, lidded box in white
9. Louis Ghost Chair

Contrary to my inner traditional, I actually love love love this chair. What would I do with it? Could you see a set of these around a certain drop-leaf mahogany table?

It’s 8:30 in the morning… and I am googling Acrylic chairs with full knowledge that I will never fit them into my apartment. Dare to dream.
