Petite Fête

Last night we went swimming after work at Cate and her husbands’ pool and then ate a delicious, very french dinner. They even had some smokes which really added to my feeling of being in France. Come to think of it, we also stayed up way too late, which was also my experience over there!

They had dinner on the table in less than 20 minutes and it was so amazing! I’d like to share what they made because I certainly am going to try this at home soon. Quick, healthy and totally delicious. Perfect for a summer evening.

Cate’s husband grilled tender steak and asparagus, or spargel we learned from them is the German term for it. Cate marinated the steak all day in order to achieve a rich flavor. She served it with a pesto pasta (Mona Lisa pasta—so good!) with some juicy plum tomatoes, sea salt and freshly grated parmesan. We drank my summer favorite, Vihno Verde from the Wine Shop downtown, and sipped cosmopolitans before dinner. All around it was a splendid evening. Thanks guys!!
