Great Painter: Jacob Kainen

Jacob Kainen is a wonderful abstract painter whose work was introduced to me via my parents. I really don’t much about him; he was an American who started out painting portraits and dabbled in social realism, before finding his love in the school of abstraction.  Yet his work would never lose its humanism or its concern for history: “However abstract the forms and colors seem, they should somehow give off an aura of human experience.”
